Learning Technology Updates

Find out What's New in Canvas

New for Fall 2021

FeedbackFruits

Cornell now has an enterprise license for FeedbackFruits, and all Cornell instructors are welcome to use this learning technology in Canvas. FeedbackFruits helps instructors facilitate peer learning activities in which students can submit individual or group work, give each other feedback guided by a rubric, complete self-assessments, and reflect on feedback from peers. We are also offering a workshop to introduce instructors to peer learning with Feedbackfruits.

Zoom

Recently, Zoom added the ability for hosts and co-hosts to share their screen from the main session directly into all open breakout rooms. This allows the presenter to share visual information to all breakout rooms as once, guiding them on next steps or tasks. Find out more about sharing your screen to all breakout rooms at Managing Breakout Rooms.

Microsoft Bookings

Though it has been available for a bit now, we want to draw attention to Microsoft Bookings. Features include integration with individual staff Outlook calendars, webpage appointment scheduling links and confirmations for customers, and mobile apps in iOS and Android. Bookings may be especially useful instructors looking to set up office hour sign-ups. To read more about Bookings, visit IT@Cornell’s
