Communities of Practice
Communities of Practice provide a forum for instructors across campus to share teaching ideas, learn from fellow instructors' past experiences, and hear about colleagues’ plans for the semester.
Faculty Online Community for Teaching
Sign up to join us and meet with colleagues from around campus, discuss, and ask questions about teaching ideas. Share your strategies with others, and learn from their experiences as well. This is an informal, asynchronous space, so enroll, and stop in any time to see what your peers have posted. If you are already a member, click here to go to the community.
New Faculty Community of Practice
Join monthly conversations about teaching strategies and your experiences as new faculty. Connect with colleagues from across Cornell to build a support network for the years ahead. We will use our shared teaching questions to guide the conversations. Any faculty members in their first three years at Cornell may join. To participate, please fill out this interest form. We will schedule monthly meeting dates based on participant availability.
Join us to discuss ideas for designing inclusive online learning environments. We will explore ways to personalize a course, give students an individualized experience, and stay connected. Come ready to exchange ideas and strategies. Brief presentations from Rene Kizilcec, Darlene Campbell, and Andrew St. James will help start our conversation.
Covid-Era Laboratory Teaching
In this first meeting instructors discussed plans for in-person labs with technology for remote participation, virtual labs, and more. Cornell lab instructors presented examples of at-home lab assignments and demonstrated technology solutions for online labs with time for questions and discussion of different strategies. CTI facilitators coordinated the discussions.
