Webinars: In-Person Teaching with Remote Students

Remote student on computer with in-person class

These workshops have been designed to help you create engaging, student-centered courses for Fall 2020 to fit your specific in-person teaching scenario. Taken in sequence, these 75-minute workshops will lead you through essential considerations for planning, preparing, and teaching an in-person course with access for remote students. Each workshop offers the opportunity to work on your course with assistance and feedback from our instructional designers and seek more help through individual consultations.

In-Person Teaching with Remote Students

Teaching students in socially-distanced classrooms with access for remote students allows instructors to teach in person with some adjustments. In this workshop, we will consider a range of ways to engage socially-distanced students in the classroom. We will also work with participants to identify a strategy for facilitating interaction with online students.

Assessing Learning in In-Person Classes with Remote Students

Teaching in socially-distanced classrooms with access for remote students involves some adaptation in approaches to assessing students’ learning.  In this workshop, we will explore a range of ways to equitably structure and time assessment through hands-on activities in which participants will have the opportunity to work on their own classes.
