Workshops: Getting Started with iClicker
Learn how to use iClicker, a classroom polling tool that is available for all Cornell instructors, support staff, and students. This workshop will offer demonstrations of iClicker's main features, including how to set up the iClicker instructor software and launch polls. The workshop will also cover how to connect iClicker to Canvas courses alongside hands-on activities.
A few notes on iClicker:
- There is no charge for instructors to teach with iClicker, and students may not be charged for using the tool.
- Students who opt in to CAMP (Cornell Academic Materials Program) can receive an iClicker remote at no additional cost to them when the instructor contacts the Cornell Store.
- Students must purchase the iClicker Student Phone App, which is offered at a reduced rate for Cornell students who purchase the app at this web site.
- Instructors may choose to allow students to use both the iClicker remote and the phone app, or either one or the other.
Audience
This workshop is intended for instructors & graduate TAs who are new to using iClicker at Cornell. It will provide an introduction to this tool, which can be an effective part of creating a dynamic student learning experience. The software and hardware required to us iClicker in the classroom will be provided to each attendee.
