Case Studies from the Provost's Working Group on Innovation in Assessment
Formed in Fall 2024, the Provost's Working Group for Innovation in Assessment works to support research, experimentation, and adoption of alternative student assessment practices at Cornell. A central part of this mission is the sharing of new assessment approaches, including through the creation of adaptable case studies.
Each academic year welcomes a new cohort of faculty fellows who design and implement innovative assessments into one of their courses, and then document and share their results with the Cornell community, as part of the Teaching Innovation Case Studies.
The Teaching Innovation Case Studies are intended to provide inspiration and ideas for different courses and learning environments. We hope you'll find inspiration in them, and if you adapt any to your course(s), we hope you'll tell us about your experience!
