Faculty Institute for Diversity

What is the Faculty Institute for Diversity?

This year's Faculty Institute for Diversity will focus on developing inclusive pedagogies that support co-learning, power-sharing and dialogue practices. Participants will articulate their commitments as anti-racist, inclusive educators and plan for teaching that empowers, enlivens, and challenges us and our students.

Anchored in self-reflection and dialogue, the two-day Faculty Institute for Diversity offers an opportunity for an interdisciplinary peer-group of faculty to work together to redefine and explore inclusion in response to our current moment. As we recover from the pandemic and continue to address the demands that emerged from the racial uprisings of 2020, what will we take into our future teaching?

Themes we'll explore include building an engaged and connected learning community, designing for disability inclusion, and how to address racism, trauma, and other identity-based issues that impact learning.

Who may apply?

Instructors from all disciplines who teach credit-bearing, semester-length courses at Cornell are welcome and encouraged to apply.
